Which Drivers licenses are valid?
You can drive in France with your European license as long as it is valid. It is not necessary to exchange your European driving license for a French license to drive in France. However if you are not in the possession of a european license and you wish to pass your french driving license it will cost you around 1200/1500€. Remember that it is expensive but the main advantage is that it is valid throughout the whole word!
Please note in terms of transportation: Nice is a city well developed with 100 bus lines as well as 2 tramway lines. Furthermore, if you want to go back to your country or travel around the world, Nice owns the 3nd biggest airport in France after the 2 main one in Paris. And for shorter travels, Nice-city assures you train’s liaisons between other french and european metropolitan cities such as Moscow, Milan and a lot of others. Last but not least, for those who wish to go visit the “Island of beauty” most commonly named Corsica, there is a direct ferry from Nice to Bastia. Pack your luggages, and Nice is waiting for you!!
Safe and unsafe parts of town, places to avoid at all times, etc.
You have to know that Nice is ranked the safest city in France! However like most of the cities, there are districts to avoid especially at night:
- Les Moulins in the West
- Las Planas in the North
- Ariane-Bon voyage in the East.
- Pont Michel district
- Liberation is fine, but not everywhere: avoid rue Trachel and rue Vernier.
The best districts of Nice:
- Le Quartier Mont Boron: for enjoying the authenticity and the sweetness of Mediterranean living.
- Le Quartier Cimiez: looking for some peace? This is the place to go, not far from the center and with 2 of the most beautiful museums of the city: le musée Matisse et le musée national Marc Chagall.
Le quartier du Port: if you want some dynamism and good vibes, we advise you to run to this place!! Full of restaurants, bars and shops this district can be compared to those Parisian districts always at the forefront of the trend.
- Le Vieux-Nice: Historical district of the city, you must have a walk there. Among the essential stops: places Masséna and Garibaldi, rue Pairolière and its many shops, the Chapelle de la Miséricorde, the Jardin Albert 1er and the hill of the Castle.
